We have changed the way we are recording the lessons and sermons. The new way should be appreciably better: voices should be clearer, and there should be much less background noise. Not that you need the technical details, but I will provide them as novelty.
The old way was a microphone on the podium that connected directly to the computer. It worked great! But picked up a lot of noise.
In the new way, the computer records from the soundboard (technically also from a microphone on the podium, but a much higher quality one).
I’m using these two lessons as an example. In the first picture, the low areas (where the blue line is flat) is still not perfectly flat (this is noise). In the second picture, the flat blue areas are properly flat. So when it should be quiet, it actually is quiet.
Does this mean anything will be different for you using our sermons? Absolutely nothing. I hope it improves your listening experience, but that is the only change.
During the process of upgrading, I will be required to hash out some of the details. It shouldn’t take long. The main issue right now is assuring that the recorded volume is high enough. I beg your patience.
Thank you. Any questions, please feel free to ask. The first sermon recorded using the new method is 3/13/11 pm.
